The ITU Telecom World Young Innovators Competition

ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies – ICTs. ITU Telecom World is an annual event taking place in a different geographical location each year. The events bring together public and private sectors, industry experts, investors, small and medium businesses (SMEs), entrepreneurs, innovators, consultants and academics to facilitate ICT innovations for economic growth and social good and make the world better, sooner.

 

The ITU Telecom World Young Innovators Competition is looking for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas on how ICTs can help keep people safe in conflicts. They could work on preventing conflict, improving safety and security in conflicts, rebuilding communities or peace building, among other topics. Participants must be between 18 and 30, and can have either an established startup or the concept for a new one. Two winners will be invited to join ITU Telecom World 2015 in Budapest, Hungary, October 12-15, 2015 to pitch their ideas, participate in workshops, benefit from a year of ongoing mentorship, and win seed funding.

 

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is a regulator of telecommunication sector in Pakistan.  PTA encourages Pakistani individuals, students and young entrepreneurs to share ideas on ITU Telecom World Forum for young innovators competition by registering at http://ideas.itu.int .
