Cyber Vigilance
Functions:
Cyber Vigilance Division consist of three departments ICT, Cyber Security and Vigilance Directorate. Main functions of ICT directorate are to Research, Study and Analysis of Information and Communication Technologies. ICT directorate is also responsible for provisioning of IT infrastructure and support. ICT directorate establishes partnership with Industry & indentifying key ICT development with International organizations. In-house Application Development and Support is one of key function of ICT directorate. They are also arranging Industry Events / Meetings / Conferences in collaboration with stakeholders. Whereas Vigilance Directorate is responsible for detection and apprehension of grey traffic is one of the key objectives of the Vigilance Directorate. In this context, multifaceted approach has been adopted which involves automatic mitigation of unauthorized IP addresses, unearthing of setups/ illegal gateway exchanges causing millions of rupees loss to government exchequer for consequent raids and also reconcile telecom traffic for revenue assurance. Cyber Security is providing assistance & feedback on policy formulation. Cyber Security is responsible to carry out internal & external security audit of applications and infrastructure. The directorate is also issuing advisories and guidelines to deal with cyber threats and to ensure implementation of security controls in systems to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.
