SATRC Workshop on Interconnection in Convergence Starts from April 2, 2007

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is hosting South Asian Telecommunications Regulators Council (SATRC) Workshop on â??Interconnection in Convergence from 2-4 April 2007 at Margalla Hotel, Islamabad. This is a training workshop in which about 18 delegates from different countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand) and representatives from Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Secretariat will participate.  In addition to foreign delegates representatives from local telecom industry will also attend the Workshop.

The SATRC Workshop on Interconnection in Convergence is a part of the implementation of the SATRC projects under the SATRC Action Plan. The purpose of this workshop is to assist the Regulatory bodies of member countries in their human resource development needs for acquiring knowledge and skills in regulatory matters relating to Interconnection. The Workshop will also assist the Regulatory bodies of member countries in covering all aspects of Interconnection in the multi-operator, multi-service, multi-technology environment and the emerging convergence scenario.

According to programme, distinguished local/international speakers will present their papers on the technical and financial issues. The subject will be discussed   comprehensively and participants will share their views regarding best international practices to tackle the issues of Interconnection in Convergence.
