PTA hosts Workshop on Distance Learning Practices for Asia Pacific Region

Islamabad:   Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is hosting a five-day Task Force Meeting on Distance Learning Practices for Asia Pacific Region from July 23-27. The meeting is arranged at the International Telecom Union (ITU) Centre of Excellence (CoE) Node established at PTA in June, 2007.

Participants from Korea, Iran, Malaysia and Switzerland are attending the meeting. The workshop will cover current practices on e-learning, online courses structure and tools for information, communication and management.

Speaking on the occasion of opening ceremony, Chairman PTA, Maj. Gen. (Retd) Shahzada Alam Malik said that PTA would continue to support ITU in its efforts to empower the member countries to build up their Information Communication Technologies (ICTs). He appreciated the initiative taken by ITU for arranging this program.

He said that this workshop has been arranged to impart training on methodology to design and conduct online courses. He said that after this training, the participants of the workshop will be able to arrange online training courses themselves from the respective nodes.
