Two Illegal Gateways Exchanges Seized in Sargodha

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) jointly conducted successful raid at Azad Road Sargodha and seized two illegal gateway exchanges. The raids resulted in confiscation of ten Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateways. At the time of raid the exchanges were actively terminating illegal voice calls. During this raid one person was apprehended by FIA. The action is expected to save million of dollar loss being incurred by the Govt due to illegal termination of voice calls by both the exchanges.

This action was a result of continuous efforts of highly technical professionals and dedicated workers of PTA who check and monitor the illegal call termination activities and adopt different procedures and processes to track the illegal telecom gateways.
