PTA Enables Free Calling to Toll-Free (0800) Numbers for Mobile Subscribers
Islamabad (10 February 2026): Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has enabled free calling to Toll-Free Numbers (TFNs), i.e., 0800-XXXXX, for all mobile subscribers. Calls to TFNs for fixed-line subscribers were already free of charge.
Previously, calls made to TFNs by mobile subscribers were subject to applicable call charges. In order to safeguard consumer interests and promote facilitation, PTA took cognizance of the matter and initiated necessary measures to ensure that calls to TFNs are free for all subscribers.
Accordingly, PTA held consultations with all relevant stakeholders, including PTCL, NTC, Local Loop (LL) operators, and Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs). Following detailed deliberations and constructive engagement, a consensus was reached to make calls to TFNs free of cost for all subscribers.
PTA remains committed to ensuring equitable access to telecom services, promoting consumer welfare, and fostering a responsive and consumer-centric telecommunication environment in Pakistan.
